Moving Colors

Moving Colors is the only contemporary dance festival in Greece primarily addressed to young audiences, presenting choreographic works with a fresh and contemporary perspective. Launched in September 2019, the festival has established itself as a dynamic platform that bridges artistic innovation with meaningful engagement for children and adolescents.
The festival aims to introduce children and adolescents to the fascinating world of contemporary dance and movement through innovative performances that ignite imagination and emotion, while simultaneously enriching their experiences and perceptions of the art of dance. Particular emphasis is placed on the educational dimension of the festival through collaborations with the school community of Attica, which is invited to attend performances and participate in discussions with the participating artists.
Moving Colors does not present dance performances “for children” in a conventional sense; instead, it showcases contemporary works whose themes and artistic language speak to children, adolescents, and adult audiences alike. Each edition focuses on issues that deeply resonate with younger generations, such as equality, freedom of expression, the fight against bullying, the right to self-determination, and social inclusion.
Thanks to the close collaboration developed by DAN.C.CE Unitiva with the European dance network Aerowaves and similar international initiatives, the festival hosts award-winning works of international scope. As a vibrant platform for artistic expression, it aspires to encourage more Greek creators to produce works addressed to young audiences— an emerging creative field that remains largely underexplored in the Greek contemporary dance landscape.
