Moving Balkans

The contemporary dance platform Moving Balkans was founded in 2024 and constitutes a new, dynamic collaboration of dance professionals from the Balkans. Its mission is to promote contemporary dance in the region and to position it dynamically within the European artistic landscape.
As an initiative, it aims to empower dance professionals and raise awareness of the vibrant and multifaceted dance scene of the Balkans through a network of collaborations, actions that promote artist mobility, educational workshops, and artistic co-productions.
At the heart of the platform are international partners, each playing a decisive role in shaping the contemporary dance landscape both regionally and across Europe. In alphabetical order, the main partners are: Albania Dance Meeting (Albania), Art Link Foundation (Bulgaria), Contemporary Dance Association Slovenia (Slovenia), Croatian Cultural Center Rijeka (Croatia), Croatian Institute for Movement and Dance (Croatia), DAN.C.CE Unitiva (Greece), EN–KNAP Productions (Slovenia), Interart Culture Center (North Macedonia), Kino Šiška Centre for Urban Culture (Slovenia), The National Center for Dance Bucharest (Romania), Students’ Cultural Center Novi Sad (Serbia).
